On this day Tour you will enjoy the art of wine tasting as well as learning about the colourful history of the region. Your guide will treat you to a variety of pre-selected wine farms in Franschhoek and Stellenbosch that are renowned for good quality wine. They are also chosen for there scenic       splendour and location. Lunch will be at one of the wine farms along the route. You will have the    opportunity to purchase the wines that appeal to your taste. In the afternoon we head for the coastal town of Hermanus.

 

OVERNIGHT | HERMANUS

After breakfast we depart the seaside town of Hermanus and head for Gansbaai and a meeting with the worlds most feared and misunderstood predator, the “GREAT WHITE SHARK!”  Shark diving takes place at Gansbaai which is about an hour’s drive from Hermanus.  The boat trip to Dyer Island and Shark Alley takes about half an hour and then you wait for the predators to arrive! This is a truly amazing experience as these giants are the ultimate predators. Action from the deck is also most     entertaining and exciting!   The return trip to Cape Town will be along a scenic Coastal Route with plenty of photo opportunities arriving back in Cape Town in the evening!

 

OVERNIGHT | CAPE TOWN

Depart Cape Town early morning and head towards the seaside town of Hermanus taking one of the most beautiful coastal drives in South Africa. Travelling along the waters edge for much of the way you will have a chance of sighting a variety of marine life including Whales, Dolphins, Cape fur Seals and Penguins!  Along the route we visit a fascinating Penguin Colony at Stoney Point and then Harold Porter Botanical Garden, where you can enjoy a coffee!  When we arrive in Hermanus your guide will give you an orientation tour before checking into your hotel. Your afternoon is spent exploring this unique Coastal Town with its many attractions. Dinner is at a recommended restaurant within easy walking distance from the hotel.

 

OVERNIGHT | HERMANUS

After breakfast you are collected by your guide and taken to the new harbour. You will board a vessel that will sail into Walker Bay to locate and to view Southern Right Whales in their natural environment. On this trip you will literally come to within meters of these magnificent giants of the ocean, it is truly a memorable experience. After your Boat Based Whale encounter we explore and enjoy a variety of wine farms in the Hemel en Aarde Valley and we will taste the wines that are produced in this unique coastal region. A light lunch will be enjoyed at one of the wine farms on the day. Towards late afternoon we depart for Cape Town taking a route which travels through the apple orchards and over a spectacular mountain pass arriving at Cape Town in the early evening.

 

OVERNIGHT | CAPE TOWN (Own Account)

We collect you from your hotel and then we proceed to the wine regions of Paarl and Franschhoek. Your guide will take you to a variety of top wine estates in the region and you will sample cheese and taste wine at these farms.  You will also be given lots of interesting information about the different areas.  Lunch will be at a recommended restaurant along the route. In the early evening you will      arrive at your overnight stop in the heart of the wine country. After checking in you are free to enjoy the exotic facilities of the hotel which has a number of fine restaurants to choose from and others within walking distance.

 

OVERNIGHT | STELLENBOSCH WINELANDS

You are collected by your guide at a time of your choice.  As you are already in the winelands we    suggest a later start so you will have more time to enjoy the hotel.  A good time for starting is 10h00 as it will allow you to enjoy a leisurely breakfast. Once on the route we will take you to a number of equally excellent wine estates as the day before. The region that we will explore is closer to the coast so the wine that you sample will be different to the ones the day before due to the influence of the maritime coastal climate.  We also do a coastal drive to Gordon’s Bay and the Strand before we return to Cape Town in the early evening.

 

OVERNIGHT | CAPE TOWN

We depart from Cape Town making our way over the mountains to the Klein Karoo, travelling through the Hex River Valley to a private Game Reserve arriving at noon. On arrival you will be welcomed by the staff and then lunch in the boma after which you can relax around the pool.  Your evening Safari Drive is at 17h00 and you will be taken into the bush to meet the wildlife, this normally takes around two hours. Dinner is enjoyed in the main dining hall or out on the pool deck overlooking the reserve.

 

OVERNIGHT | PRIVATE GAME RESERVE

You are woken early by your Game Ranger for the morning game drive, If you missed any of the animals the night before then this is your chance to see them.  Coffee is enjoyed in the bush before you return for a wonderful breakfast. We depart the Reserve at around 10h30 and follow a completely different route back to Cape Town. On the return trip there is an opportunity to sample some excellent wine at the historical town of Tulbagh. The afternoon takes us over the Bain’s Kloof mountain pass arriving in Cape Town in the late afternoon.

Without a doubt one of the most alluring activities in Cape Town is a visit to the wine country with its vast and verdant beauty, historical wine estates and  world famous wines! On this day tour you will enjoy tasting wines at a selection of exquisite estates in the Franschhoek and Stellenbosch regions. The Cape Wine route was the first commercial wine route in the world and today it is regarded as one of the best! Lunch will be enjoyed at Boschendal Wine Estate in the form of a picnic lunch or in Franschhoek at one of their fine restaurants. After an absorbing day in the winelands we head over the mountains to the seaside town of Hermanus.

 

OVERNIGHT | HERMANUS

After breakfast we depart from your hotel for a meeting with the worlds most feared and misunderstood predators, the GREAT WHITE SHARK. Shark Cage Diving takes place at Gansbaai, which is about an hour’s drive from Hermanus. The boat trip to Dyer Island and Shark Alley takes about half an hour and then you wait for the predators to arrive! If you are not keen to go into the cage then you are able to observe all the action from the deck, also most entertaining and exciting! After the shark experience, we head back to Hermanus but not before sampling some craft beer at the Birkenhead Breweries.

 

OVERNIGHT | HERMANUS

On this day you have a variety of things to enjoy. For example shopping at the local market which is just a stones through from the hotel, some fascinating museums, or a swift walk along the cliffs in front of your hotel.  The morning is free to explore Hermanus.  After lunch we depart from Hermanus to follow the coastal scenic Route back to Cape Town. Along the way you will experience a fascinating Penguin Colony at Stoney Point also Harold Porter Botanical Garden and then Clarence Drive Coastal Route. We arrive back in Cape Town at around 18h00.

What could be more relaxing than a day in the Winelands. Your personal driver and guide will introduce you to a selection of Wine Estates that have been carefully selected over years to give you a cross section of the industry.  You will experience 300 year old wine farms as well as modern state of the art cellars. In all cases the wine tasting experience will be exceptional. You will also experience the rich history of the Cape Winelands with its towns and Cape Dutch architecture. On day one we explore wine farms in the Franschhoek and Stellenbosch regions with a picnic lunch along the route. Overnight is in the heart of the Winelands at a country hotel.

After waking up in the Winelands you can enjoy a relaxing breakfast before you are collected. Once on the road you make your way to the coastal town of Hermanus for the boat based whale watching experience. Whale watching takes place in Walker Bay where there are an abundance of Southern Right Whales during the season. They come to our shores to have babies and to mate so it is not uncommon to see 50 ton Males breaching as they show off!  After your Boat Based Whale encounter a good lunch at one of the most unique restaurants in the world, Bientangs Cave is highly recommended. After this you check into your hotel and then you have the afternoon to explore Hermanus, with its museums, walks and informal market.

 

OVERNIGHT | HERMANUS

After breakfast in Hermanus we spend the morning visiting a few wine estates in the Hemel en Aarde Valley and we will taste the wines that are produced in this unique coastal region. A light lunch will be enjoyed at one of the wine farms. We then follow the coastal scenic Route back to Cape Town.  Along the way you will visit the fascinating Penguin Colony at Stoney Point as well as the Harold Porter Botanical Garden which is an absolute gem. After this Clarence Drive Coastal road with incredible views over False Bay all the way to Cape Point.  We arrive at CAPE TOWN around 18h00.

We concentrate on wine farms that produce excellent red wines as well as cheese.  We have selected a number of up and coming wine farms for your special tour. A picnic lunch is enjoyed at Vergenoegd wine farm with its 200 year old homestead. Wine tasting, cheese tasting, cellar tours its all part of this wonderful day in the winelands. Your overnight destination is also most special.

We depart from your Winelands Retreat after Breakfast and make our way over the mountains to the Klein Karoo, travelling through the Hex River Valley to a Private Game Reserve in the semi desert of the Karoo.  Arriving at noon you will enjoy lunch in the boma after which you can relax around the pool and enjoy the Lodge. Your safari guide will inform you of the game viewing times and where to meet. Your evening Safari Drive is at 17h00 and you will be taken into the bush to meet the wildlife, this normally takes around two hours. Dinner is enjoyed in the main dining hall or out on the pool deck overlooking the reserve.

You are woken early by your ranger for the morning game drive, which takes more or less the same amount of time as the evening drive! If you missed any of the animals the night before then this is your chance to see them.  Coffee is enjoyed in the bush before you return for a great breakfast. Departing the reserve at around 10h30 we follow a completely different route back to Cape Town. You will be treated to some magnificent country as we make our way through the Ceres Valley famous for its export fruit. There is more opportunity to sample some excellent wine in Tulbagh which is one of South Africa’s oldest towns. After an absorbing three day adventure we arrive at Cape Town in the early evening.

On this day we combine two of Cape Town’s most iconic landmarks in a Full Day experience that will be both spectacular and also emotional! When you visit the cell that Nelson Mandela lived in for 18 years of his 27 year incarceration, tears have been known to flow. The day is divided into two parts, Table Mountain in the morning and then Robben Island in the afternoon. This is because weather can be a factor; normally the conditions are more favorable for the mountain in the mornings! Lunch will be at the V & A Waterfront. When you return from the Island we make our way into the winelands arriving early evening.

Waking up in the Winelands is something special. You are able to chill a little before you are collected for the start of your winelands experience. On this day you will sample wines in the Franschhoek and Paarl regions with plenty of scenic places as well. Your guide will share interesting facts about the winelands with you and this will add to the overall experience. After a great breakfast at your country hotel we depart on the next leg of our Winelands adventure where we will visit one of the oldest wine farms in the region with 8 year old wines available for tasting! We then travel towards the coast visiting more exquisite wine farms in the Somerset West and Helderberg region. Lunch will be enjoyed at Vergelegen Estate, which is of historical significance, and a visit to the Manor House is a must! We will then take you to the seaside town of Gordon’s Bay and the Strand before we start our returning journey to Cape Town arriving back in the early evening.
